  • Practice Monday (and a birthday)

Just a reminder that Monday, 12/10, practice will be at 5:30 at the Sheriff’s Training Center (see previous post for directions).

There will be no practice this Saturday 12/8 as I didn’t have a lot of interest.

Also, one of our members, Greg Kvasov, forgot to tell me today is his birthday, so Monday will be our chance to throw him.
Hopefully everyone will come to partake.

We’re providing food (TBD) and beverages.

  • USJF Junior Nationals Entries

The entry form needs to be postmarked by June 8 to avoid the late entry fee ($80 rather than $60). The form is here.
The tournament is at the Spokane Convention Center.
There is a non-black belt waiver that I need to sign so bring it to practice next week and I will sign it.
The important thing is to get your entry (with or without the non-black belt waiver) sent in by Friday.

  • Junior Nationals Program Advertising

Anyone who is interested can purchase an ad in the program for the upcoming Junior Nationals here in Spokane. This program will be distributed to between 600 and 800 judo competitors. If you are interested, there is more information here: 2012 JUDO SPONSORSHIP

  • Saturday Practice cancelled until 6/2/2012

I have a conflict this weekend and next weekend is Memorial day, so we will be skipping Saturdays until June 2nd.
    See everyone Monday at practice.

  • 2012 Evergreen State Open Judo Championships

Congratulations to Jaime on her 3rd place finish in the tournament yesterday.
    Nice job!

  • Self Defense Demonstration

I wanted to thank Allen, Rich, Anna Marie, and Oleg for their help with putting on the self defense demonstration last night at the WSU Riverpoint campus. I thought the demonstration was quite a success (at least the participants all seemed excited and enthusiastic).
    Again, thank you!

  • 2012 Inland Empire Results

I wanted to congratulate all the competitors at the tournament yesterday.
We only had one person from Spokane Judo walk in front of a judge (Max).
Generally, I think all of our players only need more tournaments to get better.

    • John Yen 1st
    • Jake Kitterman 2nd
    • Joey Bergman 4th(very tough division)
    • Lucas Lewis
    • Max Lebzak
    • Ethan Reynolds
    • Paul Bergman
    • Elliot Warren

I say it at the dojo, but just to repeat myself, all of these players worked much harder than those of us who didn’t get out there and put their skill to the test!
