We will be taking off the Saturday and Monday practices for the 4th of July.
We will have practice this Thursday and again on Thursday July 6.
So make sure to come to practice this Thursday to get enough judo for the long weekend.

2023 Inland Empire Tournament
Our judoka did an outstanding job representing the club! Great technique and sportsmanship ~ we couldn’t ask for more!
Not everyone medaled, but everyone showed progress in their technique! All of our competitors showed strong tachiwaza and moved rapidly to great newaza – awesome!!
Thanks to all who made the tournament a success! Many thanks to all who sent pictures, to Chris and Sensei Rich for coaching and guiding our players, and to Chris again for all the updates (that we had to hike up a mountain to get!😂😂)
Spokane Judo would not be the club we are without all of you!
Special thanks to Pacific Judo for making this event possible and supporting judoka in the Inland Northwest!❤️
2023 Senior Nationals
Tay took second and learned a lot at his first Senior Nationals ~ Sensei Sam took Silver with his Kata partner, Sensei Paul Ziegman from Pacific!
Awesome Visitors!
Last Thursday we were honored and delighted to have Sensei Dick Tashiro, Sensei Randall Platt and Sensei Anne Platt on the mat, in preparation for the 2023 Senior Nationals!
Senior Nationals, no practice
We will not have our normal Saturday practice
Tomorrow and Sunday are the Senior Nationals, I encourage everyone who isn’t volunteering or competing to go and cheer everyone on.
The opening ceremony is at 8:00 tomorrow for the shiai and Sunday at 10:00 for the kata competition.
All event info and updated results are available here.
Good luck to Tay and Sensei Sam!
2023 Budokan Tournament
Spokane Judo was well-represented this weekend at the 2023 Budokan Tournament by Aries Flores who narrowly missed bring home the bronze in a very strong bracket. Her fighting shows how much she’s learned ~ she can’t wait for the next Shiai!
Senior Nationals Volunteers
Pacific Judo needs volunteers for the upcoming Senior Nationals.
Specifically, I would like to get at least 4 volunteers to help running a table on Saturday 5/20.
I will be bugging everyone, so the earlier you sign up to help, the less everyone has to hear about it.
The table help will have the best seat in the house for some of the best judo in the US, so don’t miss this chance to help and see some excellent judo.
No Practice Saturday 3/25
Saturday, the facility is being used for a cross fit kind of competition thing so we can’t workout. We will be back to normal on Monday.
See everyone on Monday.
