Yesterday we moved to our new location and I wanted to thank the members who came out and helped us move.
Sensei Rich, sensei Sam, Chris, Hal, Aries and Pailie.
They gave up their morning and moved a lot of weights, mats, random equipment…
Thank you all.
Spokane Judo Moving to new Location
Lilac City Fit Body Boot Camp (the people who rent us space) are relocating to just North of the North Town mall.
We are moving with them.
The actual move will be this weekend 7/1-7/2 and our first practice at the new location will be on Thursday July 7.
Our schedule will remain the same.
As a result of this, tonight, 6/30, will be the last practice at our current location.
Hope to see everyone tonight at practice and next week at the new place.
The new address is:
41 E Queen Ave, Spokane, WA

Tournament Saturday & Memorial Day Monday
Just a reminder that this Saturday is the tournament so instead of practice, come down and watch the competition.
In addition, Monday is the Memorial Day holiday, so there will be no practice.
If we don’t see you at the tournament, we will see you Thursday at practice.
Long Awaited Return of Judo Shirts
Congratulations to Sam Lui
The best part of being a judo sensei is seeing people learn judo.
The way we mark how much people are learning is through promotions.
The best promotion for me as a sensei is when a student gets their shodan.
This isn’t the end of learning in judo but the beginning, the new rank reflects a student’s sincerity and interest and deserves to be recognized. The black belt is such a recognition.
2022 Inland Empire Judo Classic
The tournament is next Saturday.
Make sure everyone is registered by tomorrow (5/23) as we will be doing weigh-ins at practice.
The registration form is here.
The link for payment is here.
Please make sure to come to practice on 5/23 as you need to weigh-in if you are competing.
I will bring a computer to help people register if they haven’t by practice time.
See everyone tomorrow.
2022 Inland Empire Information Packet
Here is the information for the tournament on May 28.
I think everyone should attend. You should come either to compete or come and watch and help out.
Competition helps you focus your judo by making it easy to identify areas you can work on.
Helping at the tournament not only helps out the club hosting the tournament, but will help teach you lots about judo.
You can download the information packet here.
I can’t stress enough how beneficial tournaments are for everyone.

No Practice Saturday, May 14
Just a note that we will not have practice this Saturday, May 14.
I will be out of town.
Workout on your own (it only takes one to do pushups).
Remember the tournament is May 28, so keep training and practice will be back on Monday.
