2023 Inland Empire Tournament

Our judoka did an outstanding job representing the club! Great technique and sportsmanship ~ we couldn’t ask for more!

They were ready!
Lined up!
Q takes Bronze!
Madelina takes gold at her *first* tournament!
Aries takes gold!
Jason takes silver at his first post-pandemic tournament!
Not to be outdone, Jason’s dad Mike also brings home the silver!
And Tay brings home the gold as well!

Not everyone medaled, but everyone showed progress in their technique! All of our competitors showed strong tachiwaza and moved rapidly to great newaza – awesome!!

Thanks to all who made the tournament a success! Many thanks to all who sent pictures, to Chris and Sensei Rich for coaching and guiding our players, and to Chris again for all the updates (that we had to hike up a mountain to get!😂😂)

Spokane Judo would not be the club we are without all of you!

Special thanks to Pacific Judo for making this event possible and supporting judoka in the Inland Northwest!❤️

Tournament Tomorrow, No Practice Saturday or Monday

Just a reminder, we have 9 competitors in the tournament on Saturday. If you aren’t competing, go and support those who are.

No Practice Saturday or Monday

Because of the tournament, there will be no practice Saturday. Monday is Memorial Day so no practice then either. See everyone Thursday ready to relive the glory of the tournament.

Senior Nationals, no practice

We will not have our normal Saturday practice

Tomorrow and Sunday are the Senior Nationals, I encourage everyone who isn’t volunteering or competing to go and cheer everyone on.
The opening ceremony is at 8:00 tomorrow for the shiai and Sunday at 10:00 for the kata competition.
All event info and updated results are available here.

Good luck to Tay and Sensei Sam!
